Legacy

This year, 2023, marks the 150th birthdays of both Max Reger and Sergei Rachmaninoff. In celebration, we have crafted a program centered on Reger’s Acht geistliche Gesänge, and ending with an excerpt from Rachmaninoff’s celebrated All-Night Vigil. Interspersed around these pieces, we’ll perform works by Amy Beach and Nathaniel Dett, contemporaries of Reger and Rachmaninoff whose works, like theirs, build on the musical legacies of those who came before and leave a very intentional legacy behind.
